We are the BMA

BMA Logo

The BMA is the trade union and professional association for doctors and medical students in the UK.

BMA membership carries a wide range of benefits, including…

Revision and exam preparation

Access interactive revision sessions with Ask Dr Clarke, test yourself with BMJ OnExamination, and more.

Library services

The BMA Library gives members access to a huge wealth of medical and clinical resources, books and journals, including via the free UK-wide send/return postal service. Members can access the private library and members lounge at BMA House in person as well.

National representation

Perhaps the most important part of being a BMA member. You are represented at both Scotland and UK level by your elected representatives – and you can get involved as well, standing for election and joining committees.

Learning and development tools

Includes training and guidance on interview skills, revision, preparing for your SJT and more practical career advice.

On-call advisers

Dedicated teams there whenever you need them to advise you on employment, career, financial and legal matters, to name but a few.

Student BMJ and related resources

Along with a full subscription to Student BMJ, membership gets you access to a wide range of exclusive training courses and resources as part of BMJ Learning and BMJ Careers.
