Our Society
Since 2019, the British Medical Association Society of St Andrews has existed as the local Students’ Association affiliated branch of the trade union and professional association for all doctors and medical students in the UK.
It was established by the BMA’s Student Representatives for St Andrews for the 2019-2020 academic session and from the beginning has involved our medical student members at its heart, committed to promoting engagement with the BMA – organising events, working on our shared priorities and keeping our members informed about matters that are relevant to their education as medical students and ultimately their careers as doctors.
The Society is designed to be semi-autonomous from the Student Representatives who are elected every session to represent their peers at the St Andrews School of Medicine at the BMA in Edinburgh and London. Its goals are to bring the BMA closer to the student body and the Students’ Association and to facilitate communication, co-operation and engagement between St Andrews medical students and the BMA.
Keep an eye on BMA St Andrews on Facebook and Twitter for details of upcoming meetings and other events.
You can also get in touch with the Society Committee via the Secretary at [email protected].
Join today – this is your chance to get involved in shaping the future of the medical profession and to represent your peers.
